MANHEIM, Pa. - North Carolina junior heavyweight Spencer Nadolsky was named one of 68 National Wrestling Coaches Association All-Academic Division I wrestlers, the organization announced Tuesday. The Holland, Mich., native has a 3.392 grade point average in exercise and sport science.

To qualify for selection, wrestlers must A) have a 3.2 GPA and been an NCAA qualifier or won 60 percent of his total schedule and must have competed in 60 percent of team schedule or B) have a 3.0 and earned NCAA All-American honors.

Nadolsky finished the 2005-06 season with a 42-7 record and a team-high 11 pins. He earned All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors and was seeded 11th at the 2006 NCAA Championships, where he finished just one win short of All-America honors. Nadolsky was ranked No. 12 in the nation by InterMat entering nationals.

Nadolsky's 42 wins rank as the third most in program history in a single season and he notched a 21-match winning streak during the season. In addition to his runner-up finish at ACCs, Nadolsky placed first at the Nittany Lion Open, second at the Carolina Open and third at the East Stroudsburg Open.

He is one of nine starters returning next season as the Tar Heels will shoot for their third straight ACC title.
