NC State head coach Bob Guzzo was chosen as the ACC Coach of the Year by a vote of the league's head coaches following the 2001 ACC Championship in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Guzzo has led the Wolfpack to 11 ACC Championships during his tenure at NC State. Guzzo also won ACC Coach of the Year honors in 1988, 1989, 1991 and 1996.

JohnMark Bentley, Jr. North Carolina

In a vote of the league's head coaches, North Carolina junior JohnMark Bentley was named the 2001 ACC Wrestler of the Year.

At the ACC Championship on March 3, Bentley won his third individual ACC Championship at 149, defeating Geoff Anderson of Duke, Bryan Rabinowitz of Maryland, and Tommy Davis of NC State. Bentley was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the ACC Championship.

Bentley earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship, where he won one match before being eliminated.
