UNC's Chris Rodrigues finished eighth at the 2002 NCAA Wrestling Tournament held March 21-23 in Albany, N.Y. Rodrigues lost to Cornell's Travis Lee 4-14 in Saturday morning's medal round to finish seventh.

UNC's final team standing was 37th with 10 total points.
