![]() ACC Wrestling Heads to NCAA Championships March 19, 2008 GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Atlantic Coast Conference will be represented by 14 wrestlers at the 2008 NCAA Wrestling Championships, set to begin this Thursday, March 20, in the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo. Leading all ACC schools with six participating wrestlers is Maryland, the 2008 league champion. The Terrapins, led by sophomore Hudson Taylor, who currently ranks sixth nationally in the 197 pound division, will send ACC individual champions Steve Bell (133), Jon Kohler (141), Brian Letters (157) and Mike Letts (174), in addition to Taylor and wild card selection Eric Medina (149) to this year's national meet. Virginia, which finished second in the ACC, has three competing wrestlers, while NC State and North Carolina have two each, and Virginia Tech has one. NC State's Darrion Caldwell and Maryland's Taylor, who are a combined 57-5 this season, received the highest seeds for this year's championship, as each were dubbed No. 7 in their respective division. Maryland's Letts as well as Virginia's Rocco Caponi also were rewarded for their performances during the season, and were seeded 10th and 11th in the 174- and 184 pound weight classes, respectively. First-round action at the 2008 NCAA Championship will kick off this Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. Second-round matches will take place Thursday evening, with the quarter- and semifinals on Friday, and final bouts on Saturday.
