GREENSBORO, N.C. - Duke's Ben Wales has been selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week after earning two wins in dual meets last week against ACC-opponent Virginia Tech and VMI.

In his first weekend bout, against A.J. Johnson of Virginia Tech on Saturday afternoon, Wales recorded his third pin of the year, taking out the Hokie wrestler at 6:36 to give the Blue Devils a 15-9 lead in the dual meet matchup. Later in the day, the sophomore Blue Devil picked up his second win with a 4-1 decision over Dustin McCabe of VMI, as Duke defeated the Keydets, 22-12. Wales, a native of Otsego, Mich., is now 19-13 overall this year, with a 9-5 dual meet mark, and has a 28-24 career record.

Wales and the Blue Devils will complete their regular season this week with a road contest at UNC Greensboro on Wednesday, and then against Duquesne this Sunday evening at home. The 2008 ACC Wrestling Championship will take place on March 8, 2008, on the campus of the University of Maryland in College Park, Md.
