Wolfpack Wrestlers Dominate Duke, 27-9

RALEIGH, N.C. - Led by sophomore Tommy Davis' meet-clinching decision over Duke's Jason Gorski, the Wolfpack beat the Blue Devils 27-9 in a college wrestling match Thursday night at Reynolds Coliseum.

Davis, ranked the No. 15 wrestler in the country at 141, defeated Gorski, who had 20 wins to his credit, 8-4 and gave NC State a 24-9 lead. Freshman John Carreon provided the final margin of victory for the Pack, earning a 5-1 decision over Bill West at 149.

Competing for the last time at home, senior Greg Bauer won his match at 133 with an 8-2 decision over Sean Meakim.

NC State improved its record to 9-7 overall, while Duke fell to 6-10 overall. The Wolfpack's next meet is the ACC Championships, held March 6 in Charlottesville, Va.
