TALLAHASSEE, FL- The Florida State men's tennis team started strong at the 2007 ITA Collegiate Summer Circuit as four Seminoles advanced to the second round Monday morning. The tournament is being hosted by Florida State at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center.

Number one seed Chris Cloer (Brevard, NC), three seed Bobby Deye (Naples, FL), four seed Andrew Bailey (Tallahassee, FL) and Michael O'Shea (Boca Raton, FL) all defeated their first round opponents.

Cloer, the tournaments top seed dispatched first round opponent Bill Rockwood in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3 and said, "I felt like I played pretty good, the first match is always the toughest." Cloer's next match will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. with his opponent yet to be determined.

Bailey, Deye and O'Shea were also straight set winners putting the first four Seminoles on the court into the second round. Number two seed Bradley Mixson (Miami, FL) and Jason Hood (Columbia, SC) are still playing and are expected to advance.

All six Seminoles will compete in doubles as well with Cloer teaming with Hood, Deye joining with O'Shea and Mixson partnering with Bailey. Considering FSU's early success in the tournament it's likely that the Seminoles could be teammates one minute and opponents the next. Cloer said, "Coming in here the number one seed is a big deal, I'm hoping to play Brad or another one of our guys."
