Seven ACC Men Earn ITA Tennis All-America Honors

GREENSBORO – Seven Atlantic Coast Conference men’s tennis student-athletes have earned 2012 ITA Division I All-America honors. The men’s All-America Team includes four from second-ranked and NCAA runner-up Virginia – Alex Domijan, ACC Freshman of the Year Mitchell Frank and ACC Player of the Year Jarmere Jenkins as singles All-Americans, and Jenkins and Drew Courtney in doubles. The four individuals and five total honors are both Virginia school records for a season. Also named to the men’s team were Duke’s Henrique Cunha and the Georgia Tech doubles tandem of Kevin King and Juan Spir. To earn All-America status in singles a player must be a top 16 seed in the NCAA Singles Championship, reach the round of 16 of the NCAA Singles Championship, or be ranked in the top 20 of the final ITA rankings. To earn All-America status in doubles, a team must be a top eight seed in the NCAA Doubles Championship, reach the quarterfinals of the NCAA Doubles Championship, or be ranked in the top 10 of the final ITA rankings.
