DURHAM, N.C. -- Duke's Phillip King has been named the ITA National Rookie of the Year for NCAA Division I men's tennis, announced Tuesday by the organization.

Last week, Duke's Ansley Cargill was named the national Rookie of the Year for women's collegiate tennis.

King advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA singles championship last week after helping the Blue Devils to the quarterfinals of the team tournament. He also earned ACC and ITA Regional Rookie of the Year honors this season.

The All-ACC honoree is ranked ninth nationally in the latest WingspanBank.com national singles rankings.
