King & Yani Advance To Quarterfinal Round In NCAA Doubles Championship
May 24, 2002 Duke's tandem of Phillip King and Michael Yani defeated John Fruttero and Robert Kowalczyk of California in straight sets to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2002 NCAA Doubles Championship Bracket in College Station, Texas.
King and Yani earned a 6-3, 6-1 win over Fruttero and Kowalczyk and will meet third-seeded Oliver Maiberger and Ryan Redondo of San Diego State on Saturday.
