The Duke men's tennis team will host an NCAA Regional on May 11-12 at the Ambler Tennis Stadium. The NCAA 64-team field was announced on Thursday.

In the first match on Saturday, May 11 at 8:00 a.m., 17th-ranked Duke (15-11) faces 75th-ranked American (17-1). Following that match, 10th-ranked California (18-6) will meet UMBC (18-7), with Saturday's winners squaring off on Sunday. The winner of Sunday's match will advance to the round of 16 in College Station, Texas.

The Blue Devils are led by 2002 ACC Player of the Year Phillip King and All-ACC selection Michael Yani. Both individuals were selected to play in the NCAA Individual Championships for both singles and doubles play. The individual championships consist of 64 singles players and 32 doubles tandems and begin with singles competition on May 22.

King, ranked 11th nationally in singles, is 20-6 on the season with an 18-5 ledger in dual match play. A sophomore from Long Beach, Calif., King earned ITA National Rookie of the Year and All-America honors in 2001.

Yani, a junior from Boca Raton, Fla., is ranked 43rd in the nation in singles and is 22-17 on the year.

The doubles team of King and Yani holds a record of 14-9 on the season and is ranked 28th in the country.

The Blue Devils advance to the NCAA Tournament for the 10th straight year and 12th season overall.

Last season, the Duke advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals before losing to eventual national champion Georgia.
