GREENSBORO, N.C. - Nineteen Atlantic Coast Conference student-athletes from 10 different league schools are among 64 singles players and 32 doubles teams selected to participate in the 2008 NCAA Men's Tennis Individual Championships, as announced by the NCAA early Wednesday evening.

Reigning national singles champion Somdev Devvarman of Virginia and Miami's Daniel Vallverdu were automatic selections for singles competition. Devvarman, who has been ranked No. 1 in the nation all season, clinched the top seed while Vallverdu got the nod for the fifth seed.

In doubles, the league took two of the four automatic spots. Virginia's Devvarman and Treat Huey garnered the No. 1 overall seed, while Miami's Vallverdu and Carl Sundberg were seeded third.

The singles and doubles competition will be conducted May 21-26 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla., following the conclusion of the team championship (May 16-20). The University of Tulsa will serve as host.
