Jarmere Jenkins Named ACC Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Virginia senior Jarmere Jenkins has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, announced Tuesday by the league office.
Jenkins helped lead No. 1 Virginia to a 6-1 victory over No. 5 Oklahoma on March 3 to mark the Cavaliers third top-five win of the season. Virginia also owns wins over No. 4 Ohio State and No. 2 USC this season.
The College Park, Ga., native rallied from a first set defeat to top 2012 All-American and No. 39 Costin Paval, 2-6, 6-4, 10-2, at the No. 1 singles slot. The win was his 117th of his career, moving him to seventh place on Virginia’s all-time wins list.
