ATHENS, Ga. - The Blue Devil duo of senior Dmitry Muzyka and senior Jordan Wile lost in the first round of the NCAA doubles championship bracket on Thursday, held at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.

The Duke tandem, currently ranked 13th nationally but playing together for the first time in NCAA championship competition, fell to 12th-ranked Kelly Gullett and John Hui of Pepperdine in three sets. After winning the first set 7-6 (6-4 in the tiebreaker), Muzyka and Wile lost the next two 6-3, 6-2.

This concludes the 1998-99 season for the Duke mens tennis program. With the loss, Muzyka and Wile finish the year with a 23-4 doubles record.
