TULSA, OKLA. - Duke's Phillip King, seeded fifth, advanced into the quarterfinals of the 2004 NCAA Singles Championship Tournament with a straight set win over Guillaume Bouvier of Boise State in Tulsa, Okla. In doubles action, Duke's Ludovic Walter and Jason Zimmermann fell in the second round.

With the 7-5, 6-4 win, King improves his record to 21-8 on the year while advancing to the Round of Eight. The senior from Long Beach, Calif., will face Michael Kogan of Tulane, who Friday defeated Pedro Rico of Pepperdine 6-2, 6-2. The match will begin at 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Walter and Zimmermann fell to Chris Brandi and Hamid Mirzadeh of Florida 6-4, 3-6, 4-6.
