ATHENS, GA. - North Carolina saw its men's tennis season come to an end on Friday afternoon as the doubles team of Nick Monroe and Trystan Meniane fell in the second round of the 2003 NCAA Men's Tennis Championships at Feild Stadium at the University of Georgia.

Meniane and Monroe, ranked No. 17 nationally in doubles, put up a game effort but fell by a score of 6-2, 6-3 to the nation's No. 1 rated doubles team, brothers Richard and William Barker of Rice.

Meniane and Monroe were UNC's last survivors in the tournament.

Carolina now looks forward to 2003-04 but will do so minus seniors Trystan Meniane and Greg Archer.
