No. 1 Cavaliers Win 5-2 at Georgia Tech With the win, the Cavaliers broke the ACC record for consecutive wins against conference competition at 57 matches, eclipsing the mark set by Duke from 1997-2002. Virginia took a 1-0 lead by taking the doubles point from the Yellow Jackets (15-6, 6-4 ACC). Michael Shabaz (Fairfax, Va.) and Drew Courtney (Clifton, Va.) topped Kevin King and Juan Spir 8-6 at No. 1. After Georgia Tech won at No. 2 to draw even, Lee Singer (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) and Jarmere Jenkins (College Park, Ga.) clinched the opening point for Virginia with an 8-6 win at No. 3 over Guillermo Gomez and Dean O'Brien.
