No. 1 Cavaliers Win 5-2 at Georgia Tech
The top-ranked Virginia men's tennis team secured the outright ACC regular season title on Saturday as it topped No. 26 Georgia Tech 5-2 at the Bill Moore Tennis Center. The Cavaliers (31-1, 10-0 ACC) won their seventh consecutive ACC regular season championship and broke the conference record with their 57th consecutive win against ACC competition.

With the win, the Cavaliers broke the ACC record for consecutive wins against conference competition at 57 matches, eclipsing the mark set by Duke from 1997-2002.

Virginia took a 1-0 lead by taking the doubles point from the Yellow Jackets (15-6, 6-4 ACC). Michael Shabaz (Fairfax, Va.) and Drew Courtney (Clifton, Va.) topped Kevin King and Juan Spir 8-6 at No. 1. After Georgia Tech won at No. 2 to draw even, Lee Singer (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) and Jarmere Jenkins (College Park, Ga.) clinched the opening point for Virginia with an 8-6 win at No. 3 over Guillermo Gomez and Dean O'Brien.
