April 3, 2010
ATLANTA - The Georgia Tech men's tennis team swept three doubles matches and battled past Boston College in singles action to take a 5-2 decision from the Eagles in ACC action on Saturday afternoon at the Bill Moore Tennis Center.
With the win, the 25th ranked Yellow Jackets improved to 15-3 overall and 6-1 in the ACC. With the win, The Jackets extend their winning streak to seven and improve to 12-0 on the season at the Bill Moore Tennis Center. Boston College fell to 8-12 overall, 0-8 in the ACC with the loss.
"Once again, we got off to a quick start in doubles, but in singles, we got down in four matches in the first set" head coach Kenny Thorne said. "But, I never doubt that we're going to stay in there and fight. It's not a matter of whether we could comeback or not, it's just a matter of if we end up getting beat. Once again, I felt like we fought hard in each of the matches and pulled it out.
"I've got to give credit to Boston College, they did a great job. Fortunately, they didn't beat us and it was a good match for us."
