CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - After capturing the doubles point, the University of Virginia men's tennis team was unable to continue the momentum and fell to ACC-rival Clemson 4-3 today at the Sheridan Snyder Tennis Center. The loss drops the Cavaliers' record to 7-5 overall and 1-2 in the ACC, while Clemson improves to 13-4 overall and 2-0 in the ACC.

Despite seeing its #1 doubles squad of Huntley Montgomery and Brian Vahaly drop an 8-2 decision to Pablo Bellagamba and Josh Goffi the Cavaliers nonetheless won the doubles point. Tommy Croker and John Winter won their sixth match in a row with an 8-5 win Tomasz Boniecki and Marko Gojanovic at #2. Brian Hunter and Hyon Yoo also continued their winning ways by defeating Luis Garcia and Ryan Bauer 8-2 at #3.

The Tigers quickly pulled ahead in singles play as Goffi at #3, Boniecki at #4 and Bradley Emendorfer at #6 all won their matches.Virginia's #1 player, Brian Vahaly, defeated Ryan Bauer 6-4, 6-1 to pull the Cavaliers closer.

Bellagamba clinched the win for Clemson by downing sophomore Huntley Montgomery 6-4, 7-6 (6-4) at #2.
