Tech Men's Tennis Team Trounces Furman, 7-0

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Georgia Tech's men's tennis team defeated Furman 7-0 Thursday at the Minor Mickel Tennis Center. It was the first away dual match for the Yellow Jackets and their third sweep in four matches.

Junior Benjamin Cassaigne, ranked 62nd in the nation, won his No. 1 singles match 6-3, 6-3 by defeating Furman's Lee Nickell. Other Tech winners in singles dual matches included senior Matt Cozad, junior Roberto Suarez, and sophomores Sergio Aguirre, Romain Coirault, and Jason Jeong.

Tech led the way by winning all three doubles matches and clinching the doubles point. The No. 1 doubles tandem of Cassaigne and junior Tim Bibby defeated Drew Parker and Brian Gill 8-2. Other doubles winners were Suarez and junior Robert Wright at No. 2 doubles and Cozad and Aguirre at No. 3 doubles.
