Georgia Tech Falls to Auburn, 5-2

The Georgia Tech men's tennis team (5-1) suffered its first loss of the season, dropping a 5-2 decision to visiting Auburn (3-1) Thursday afternoon at the Bill Moore Tennis Center.

The Tigers took an early 1-0 lead over the Yellow Jackets after winning all three doubles matches by an 8-6 score.

The Jackets struck back fairly quickly in singles play as freshman Eliot Potvin earned a 6-2, 6-4 win over Alex Petropoulos in the No. 6 singles position. Tech went up 2-1 when senior David North came in with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Lukas Marsoun at the No. 2 spot. The lead didn't last long though as the Tigers came through with wins in the No. 3 and No. 5 singles spots to take a 3-2 lead.

The deciding point of the match came at No. 4 singles as senior Scott Blackmon dropped a tough three-set match to the Tigers Pawel Dilaj, 6-4, 2-6, 2-6.
