No. 13 Seminoles Open Home Season With Two Victories No. 27 Jean-Yves Aubone (Miami, Fla.) won all three of his matches today. The senior defeated Juan Melian Puigventos of Georgia Southern 6-0, 6-2 on court two. He then played on court one against South Alabama to win 6-4, 6-4 against Romain Bocaert. In doubles, he teamed up with junior Clint Bowles (Tampa, Fla.) to win 8-1 against South Alabama's Viel/Bolaert. No. 111 Vahid Mirzadeh (Wellington, Fla.) had a strong showing when he played on court one against Jayraj Jadeja of Georgia Southern to win 6-1, 6-2. Moving to court three against South Alabama, the senior won 6-2, 6-1 over Hanno Bartsch. Alongside freshman Connor Smith (Tampa, Fla.), the No. 33 doubles team defeated Bartsch/Kuehne 8-3. Duke Grounds Elon, 7-0 In his first match of the season, 17th-ranked Henrique Cunha recorded a 6-1, 6-2 win over Elon's Philip Nemec in the No. 1 singles match. At No. 2 singles, Reid Carleton had a strong performance against Elon's Chase Helpingstine, nearly recording a double bagel with a 6-0, 6-1 win. Carleton broke serve in the final game to win the match and in turn, dropped only one game. Tech's success slowed on day two of Virginia Tech Challenge The format includes eight singles flights and four doubles flights with round-robin competition in all flights. There will be no team scoring in the event and winners in each flight will be determined by the following method: 1) won-loss record, 2) head to head, 3) total sets won and 4) total games won. Play begins on Saturday at 9 a.m. and Sunday at 8 a.m. with Tech in action Saturday at 2 p.m and Sunday at noon. Boston College Falls to Columbia 5-2 … Coming Soon
