GREENSBORO, N.C. - Eight Atlantic Coast Conference men's soccer student-athletes were named to the 2009 NSCAA/Performance Subaru Men's NCAA Division I All-America teams, as announced by National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) on Friday. Wake Forest's Corben Bone, who was named a finalist for the 2009 Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy earlier in the day, headlines four ACC players among the first-teamers.

Joining Bone on the first team were teammate Ike Opara, the league's 2009 Defensive Player of the Year, North Carolina's Zach Loyd and Virginia's Tony Tchani. Receiving third-team nods were Maryland's Zac MacMath, North Carolina's Michael Farfan and Billy Schuler and Wake Forest's Zack Schilawski.

Three of the four teams participating in this weekend's NCAA College Cup (North Carolina, Wake Forest and Akron) each placed three players on the roster, while the fourth team (Virginia), had one player recognized by the voting NSCAA member coaches.

Among the 36 players on the three teams, only five are repeat selections. Wake Forest had two players earn the honor for the second time (Bone and Opara), alongside Akron's Anthony Ampaipitakwong, Harvard's Andre Akpan, and Northwestern's Mark Blades.

The NSCAA/Performance Subaru All-America selections will be recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon, held in Philadelphia, Pa., on Saturday, Jan. 16 as part of the 2010 NSCAA Convention.
