GREENSBORO, N.C. - Four ACC men's soccer student-athletes were named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America First Team, announced November 19 by CoSIDA.

Terrapin senior Stephen King was tabbed a first-team Academic All-America selection. The second-year captain, who is majoring in finance, is one of the top midfielders in the country. The Medford, N.J. product has put together a fine senior season with 12 assists, which is just three away from the Maryland single-season record set by Gino Ferrin and Keith Beach in 1985 and 1998, respectively. King currently leads the ACC in assists and is second in the nation in that category. His three assist performance on November 3 against No. 14 Virginia tied the program record for assists in a single game.

King and the Maryland Terrapins will vie for their third NCAA College Cup title as the No. 13 seeded Terps earned their 25 NCAA appearance in school history, as announced on Monday. Maryland is 10-5-4 on the season and will host the winner of Liberty and Loyola (Md.) on Nov. 28 at 5 p.m.

Duke's Joseph Germanese was picked as a second-team Academic All-America member. The senior midfielder is currently second on the Blue Devils' charts with seven assists this year and has contributed three goals on 25 shots. The product of St. Louis, Mo., ranks fourth on the squad with 13 points. Germanese is an economics major with a certificate in markets and management.

Rounding out the ACC's representation are Duke's Michael Videira and North Carolina's Bill Dworsky, both earn third-team recognition. Videira, a native of Milford, Mass., is on the Hermann Trophy watch list for the third consecutive season. He has started 14 matches and played 1,161 minutes despite battling through a leg injury. Videira has helped the Blue Devils with two goals and three assists and run the offense from the center midfield position. The team captain is earning a degree in sociology with a certificate in markets and management.

Dworsky, a native of Huntsville, Ala., finished the season as UNC's leading scorer with 17 points on six goals and five assists. He saw action in all 20 games for the Tar Heels and started 17. The sophomore forward had a pair of multi-goal games on the year with two each in wins over Akron and Clemson.

Videira and the Duke Blue Devils earned an at-large bid to the 2007 NCAA Men's Soccer Field of 48 and will travel to Kentucky to face Louisville in first-round action on Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. The winner of the Blue Devils and Cardinals, who are making their first NCAA Tournament appearance, will advance to face No. 5 seeded Ohio State on Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m.
