9:55 p.m. - Wake Forest looked like they were going to win it in regulation when Lyle Adams found the back of the net with just under 30 seconds remaining. Offsides was called on the play, taking the goal away. The action has really heated up, with both teams seeing many scoring opportunities.

9:54 p.m. - Wake Forest isn't undefeated this season for no reason. The Demon Deacons just scored with a little over one minute remaining to tie the game, 2-2. Danny Wenzel netted the goal off a corner kick.

9:45 p.m. - Chase Neinken just scored on a header over Wake Forest's goalkeeper to put the Cavaliers ahead, 2-1. The clock is showing just over seven minutes remaining.

9:31 p.m. - Virginia didn't stay down long, as Jonathan Villanueva scored a breakaway goal to tie the score, 1-1.

9:25 p.m. - A ball just went to the top row of the bleachers, where it was caught by a spectator. Give that fan a contract. And the throw back wasn't bad either...

9:14 p.m. - Marcus Tracy scores the first goal of the match off a feed from Corben Bone. Wake takes the 1-0 lead with 36 minutes remaining on the clock and the fog rolling in.

8:55 p.m. - Halftime now, still scoreless. Both games today have been scoreless at the half. And the rain has returned...

7:54 p.m. - Steve Phillips, the ACC women's soccer contact, has let those of us in the pressbox in on an interesting note. During Friday's first six NCAA First Round games, the ACC outscored opponents 24-1 while notching six wins. They just announced the lineups and kickoff is very soon. Tune in to ACC Select to watch for free!

7:21 p.m. - Maryland is the first team to advance to the ACC Championship match on Sunday. The Terrapins won 1-0 after an own-goal by Boston College. Check back for the entire game story later tonight. The Wake Forest vs. Virginia match is coming up in approximately 35 minutes.

6:54 p.m. - The rain has let up, but the defenses haven't. Still scoress in the 68th minute. Both teams are playing aggressively, but the defenses will not break. The crowd is starting to emerge from shelter. When they do, they'll see a great soccer game!

6:25 p.m. - The rain picked up just before halftime, and it has not relented with five minutes to go before the second half. A scoreless tie through 45 minutes.

6:03 p.m. - Still scoreless, 10 minutes left in the first half. Boston College goalkeeper Chris Brown made back-to-back saves on a pair of shots by Maryland, thwarting the best scoring chance of the night for either team.

5:31 p.m. - It's time to kick the tires and light the fires... it will be hard to get a fire going though... very damp outside, with a chance of rain later in the evening. As someone in the press box said, perfect weather for soccer.

5:12 p.m. - Both teams are on the field, 5:00 to go on the countdown clock... You can check out the starters (and later in game scoring) on Gametracker!
