GREENSBORO, N.C. - The ACC regular season champion Virginia heads up the 2001 All-ACC Men's Soccer Team with five highlighted athletes, while Clemson, North Carolina and Wake Forest each name four to the team, as selected by the league's seven head coaches.
Duke and Maryland rounded out the teams adding three and two selections, respectively.

Virginia's Kyle Martino was tabbed as the 2001 ACC Player of the Year, while his coach George Gelnovatch garnered ACC Coach of the Year recognition. North Carolina's Marcus Storey was selected the ACC Rookie of the Year.
Player of the Year
Martino, a junior midfielder, currently leads the Cavaliers and is second in the conference with 0.53 assists per game. The Montvale, N.J., native has been named ACC Player of the Week on two occasions this season and was also a member of the Soccer America Team of the Week twice.
Rookie of the Year
The ACC Rookie of the Year honors are captured by North Carolina's Marcus Storey who currently has 24 points this season, ranking fourth in the league. This season the freshman forward from Missouri City, Texas, has recorded eight goals and eight assists.
Coach of the Year
In his sixth year as the head coach of the Virginia Cavaliers, George Gelnovatch has posted a record of 98-26-12, including a 16-0-1 record this season. The Cavaliers enter this weekend as the top seed and are currently ranked No. 2 in the nation by Soccer America and the NSCAA. This is George Gelnovatch's second ACC Coach of the Year honor. He also received the honor in 1996.
