INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Four ACC teams were among the 32-team field announced by the NCAA to participate in the 2000 Division I Men's Soccer Championship on Monday afternoon.

ACC Champion North Carolina (19-2) earned the tournament's top seed. The Tar Heels will host William & Mary in the first round on November 19. If the Tar Heels should win in the first round, they would face the winner of the Rhode Island-Boston College game in the second round.

Clemson (13-3-2) is the tournament's second seeded team and will host Furman on November 19 in first round action. The Tigers defeated Furman earlier in the season by the score of 2-0. The winner of the Clemson-Furman game will face the winner of the Dartmouth-Connecticut game in the second round.

Virginia (15-5-1), which narrowly lost to North Carolina 1-0 in the ACC Tournament Championship game, is the NCAA Tournament's fifth seed. The Cavaliers first round match-up will be at home against Lehigh on November 19. The winner of that game will face the winner of the James Madison-St. John's contest.

Duke (14-5) will travel to Columbia, S.C. to face South Carolina in first round play on November 19. The winner of that game will play the winner of the Brown-Vermont game.

The ACC's four selections were the most by any conference in the field.

The ACC teams selected as well as the other 28 teams that comprise the field are all playing for the 2000 NCAA Men's College Cup. The Men's College Cup Final Four will be played in Charlotte, N.C., December 8-10 at Ericsson Stadium.
