Sept. 20, 2011
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Duke forward Andrew Wenger has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week after having a hand in four of the Blue Devils' five goals in last Friday night's 5-2 conference win at Clemson.
The Lititz, Pa., junior registered his first career hat trick and added an assist to key the ACC road win. The three goals gave him six for the year and marked his second multiple goal game of the season. Wenger also picked up his first assist of the season to give him 13 points on the year.
The win stopped a three-game losing streak for Duke, which evened its conference record at 1-1. Wenger currently ranks third in the ACC in scoring, and his seven points in conference games leads the league.
