![]() Duke's Curtis And Virginia's Gibbs Share ACC Player Of The Week Honor

DURHAM, N.C.--Duke forward Ali Curtis and Virginia forward Ryan Gibbs share this week's Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week honors after leading their respective teams to a 2-0 record in last week's play. Curtis, a senior from Milan, Michigan, recorded four goals and one assist for a total of nine points in victories over Campbell and No. 10 Clemson. Against the Campbell Camels, Curtis tallied his second career hat trick with three goals while also contributing an assist on the 4-1 win. In the Blue Devils first league contest of 2000, Curtis tallied a goal in the 3-2 victory over the No. 10 Clemson Tigers. Gibbs, a sophomore hailing from West Chester, Pa., scored both goals in a 2-0 victory over the No. 5 Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Virginia finishes the week with a 2-0 record and begins the 2000 conference slate with a 1-0 record.
