GREENSBORO, N.C. – Duke’s Daniel Tweed-Kent and North Carolina’s Michael Farfan were named Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Co-Players of the Week after leading their respective squads to victories over ranked ACC opponents to remain undefeated on the season.

Tweed-Kent tallied the game-winner in overtime to lead 19th-ranked Duke (4-0-0, 1-0-0) to a 1-0 upset at 16th-ranked Virginia (2-1-0, 0-1-0). The Pittsfield, Mass., native’s goal marked the first collegiate score of his career as the junior joined the team as a walk-on last spring. Tweed-Kent came off the bench to score the game-winner just 26 seconds into the second overtime.

Farfan lifted No. 2 North Carolina (3-0-1, 1-0-0) past 18th-ranked NC State (3-1-0, 0-1-0) with a 65th-minute go-ahead goal in Saturday’s 2-1 victory. With the match tied at one, Farfan took possession outside the box, beat a defender at the edge of the area then blasted a shot that ricocheted off the right post for the game-winner. A junior transfer from Cal State Fullerton, Farfan has already tallied three goals on the season and leads the Tar Heels in both goals and points with seven. He has started all four games on the season for the unbeaten Tar Heels.

Duke and North Carolina next battle each other in the challenging 2009 ACC schedule. The game is slated for Sept. 18 in Chapel Hill. Game time for the undefeated squads is 7 p.m. ET.
