![]() Maryland Wins 16th Annual ACC Men's Soccer Championship

CARY, N.C. -- The Maryland Terrapins took home the 16th Annual Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Soccer Championship with a 3-0 victory over the Virginia Cavaliers at the SAS Soccer Stadium in Cary, N.C. The second-seeded Terrapins were led by Abe Thompson who scored three goals to capture the program's second ACC Title under head coach Sasho Cirovski. The first Maryland goal was scored at the 4:45 mark by Abe Thompson on assists from Domenic Mediate and Scott Buete. Thompson added two second-half goals off penalty kicks. Thompson's three goals tied an ACC Tournament record for goals scored in a single game with Wake Forest's Ihor Dotsenko in 1997. With the victory, Maryland improves to 17-4-0 while Virginia drops to 15-6-0.
