![]() Terps Take Out Wolfpack, 2-1

CARY, N.C. - The top-seeded Maryland Terrapins defeated the fifth-seeded NC State Wolfpack 2-1 Friday evening at the SAS Soccer Complex to advance to the ACC Men's Soccer Finals on Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Terps will make their second-straight appearance in the ACC finals. Maryland got on the board first in the 37th minute when sophomore Jason Garey scored on an unassisted play to take a 1-0 lead. The Terps would increase their lead to two off a rebound in the 72nd minute. Domenic Mediate went top shelf to beat Wolfpack goalkeeper Jorge Gonzalez for the game winner. A.J Herrera assisted on the goal by Mediate. NC State cut the lead in half when Federico Peria connected on a penalty kick with just under ten minutes remaining. Maryland controlled the ball in their half of the zone for the rest of the game to solidify the 2-1 win over the Wolfpack. NC State's record becomes 9-8-2 while Maryland (17-2) advances to face the winner of Wake Forest/Virginia on Sunday, November 16 at 1:00 p.m. for the 2003 ACC Men's Soccer Championship.
