Bone's Three Assists Lead No. 2 Wake Forest to 4-1 Win against Davidson
Wake Forest junior midfielder Corben Bone tied a career high with three assists and four different players scored a goal as the second-ranked Demon Deacons defeated Davidson 4-1 on a rainy Tuesday night at Spry Stadium.

With the win, Wake Forest extended its unbeaten streak to eight straight games and improved its record to 12-2-2. Davidson dropped to 10-6-0 with the loss.

Each team battled difficult field conditions due to rain, which lasted the entire game. Most of the first half was played under a heavy rain, before tapering off to a light rain in the second half.

#13 NC State Cruises by Centenary, 5-0
Behind five second-half goals, the 13th-ranked NC State men’s soccer team defeated visiting Centenary, 5-0, Tuesday night at Dail Soccer Field. After a scoreless first half, the Wolfpack (11-3-1) turned up the attack, and picked up the win over the Gents (3-13-1) to remain a perfect 9-0 versus non-conference foes this season.

Much of the first half was spent on the Gents side of the field, as NC State controlled possession throughout the first 45 minutes of play. The Pack held a 10-2 advantage in shots, and took seven corner kicks.

Senior Federico Nachmann had NC State’s best chance, when he ripped a shot off the post in the eighth minute. Classmate Amar Brkic also came close in the 35th minute, but his shot was cleared off the backline right before it was about to go into the Gents’ net.

Tech offense explodes with 5-1 victory over Longwood
On a wet and rainy Tuesday night at Thompson Field, the Virginia Tech offense came alive as four different players scored goals and the Hokies’ were victorious in a slip-and-slide match over Longwood, 5-1.

Senior captain James Gilson earned the game’s first shot in the 11th minute, an attempt headed for the lower back corner, but Longwood’s keeper Joel Helmick made the diving save. The Hokies saw another chance on a cross from freshman Gregory Cochrane intended for the diving forward Brendan Dunn, but the pass was just out of Dunn’s reach.

The Lancers were first to get on the board in the 17th minute, though, as Harvey Headley took a pass from Marcus Dixon and converted it into a 1-0 early lead for Longwood, sending it to the lower right corner in a one-on-one situation with keeper Stefan Caulfield. The goal marked Harvey’s team-leading sixth of the season.
