Boston College Men's Soccer Earns 1-0 Victory Over Quinnipiac NEWTON, Mass. - Freshman Colin Murphy scored the game-winning goal in the 43rd minute to lift Boston College to a 1-0 non-conference victory over Quinnipiac before 438 fans on Columbus Day at the Newton Campus Complex. Murphy collected sophomore Edvin Worley's feed and hit a half volley from 22 yards with his right foot beyond the reach of a diving Quinnipiac goalkeeper Frederick Hall for the game's only goal at 42:52. Freshman Charlie Rugg also assisted on the score. The host Eagles (6-5-0) outshot the visiting Bobcats 15-5 in the match, including a 10-1 edge in second-half action. Both teams had goal-scoring opportunities early in the game. BC senior Mor Avi Hanan enjoyed the day's first prime opportunity. In the 12th minute, the Kiriat Ono, Israel, resident, hit a curling left-footed direct kick from 22 yards that ricocheted off a Quinnipiac defender and was saved by an outstretched Hall.
