NC State Men’s Soccer Notches Shutout Over Gardner-Webb, 4-0

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State men’s soccer team used three second-half goals in defeating visiting Gardner-Webb, 4-0, on Saturday night at the NC State Soccer Stadium. The Wolfpack (3-6-1) used a pair of goals from junior Alan Sanchez in a span of just over one minute midway through the second half, and defeated the Bulldogs (3-7) with a 4-0 score for the second straight year.

NC State struck first in the 21st minute. Sanchez won a ball in the midfield and played a pass to classmate Ronnie Bouemboue on the left wing. After a few dribbles, Bouemboue struck a hard shot from about 30-yards out that found the back of the net at the 20:03 mark. The goal was Bouemboue’s fourth in the last three games, and his team leading sixth of the season.
