NC State wins 2-0, but forfeits to Boston College

No. 15 Tar Heels Roll Past ETSU, 8-0

CHAPEL HILL --- North Carolina senior forward Brian Shriver went for four goals and junior striker Eddie Ababio notched a brace as the No. 15 Tar Heels (7-1-1) routed East Tennessee State, 8-0, on a rainy Saturday night at Fetzer Field. Freshmen Billy Schuler and Alex Dixon also scored for UNC, which posted its biggest victory since an 11-0 win over Rider in 2000.

After a back-and-forth opening five minutes, sophomore Cameron Brown fed Shriver into the middle of the box, and the Clearwater, Fla., product finished from 12 yards to make it 1-0 at 6:07. One became two at 14:38 as Shriver headed home a Schuler cross inside the six-yard box.

An impressive individual effort made it 3-nil just 16 seconds later, as Schuler collected a loose ball near midfield and beat a number of ETSU (4-3-0) defenders and, ultimately, Buccaneer goalie James Holt.
