Terp Alums Dougherty and Reese Named To Major League Lacrosse Star Game Rosters
July 26, 2001 A pair of former Maryland men's lacrosse stars have been named to the National Division All-Star Team at the inaugural 2001 Major League Lacrosse Star Game being held in Bridgeport, Conn., on August 2. Defenseman Brian Reese of the Baltimore Bayhawks has been named a starter after strong season. He has played in all eight games in helping Baltimore to a 6-2 record. He has scored one goal and scooped up 12 groundballs. Goalie Brian Dougherty was added to the team as a reserve after a sensational season with the Rochester Rattlers. "Doc" has started all seven games and recorded a 12.68 goals against average. he has made 198 saves for a 55.1 save percentage.
