Two Former Terps To Play In Major League Lacrosse All-Star Game
July 20, 2002 BOWIE, Md. - A pair of former Terps will take part in the Major League Lacrosse All-Star Game this Sunday at Prince George's Stadium in Bowie, Maryland, July 21 at 4:00 p.m. Defenseman Brian Reese of the Baltimore Bayhawks has been chosen to his second straight MLL All-Star game. Reese has been a key to the team's first-place standing. Reese graduated from Maryland in 1998 after a solid career as a long-pole defensive midfielder. Goalie Brian Dougherty has also been picked to the star game for the second year in a row. Dougherty has been the backbone of the Rochester Rattlers' defense. He was named a first-team All-American at Maryland in 1995 and 1996. Both former Terps will play for the National Division team with Reese drawing a starting nod and Dougherty backing up Bayhawks' goalie Greg Cattrano. The game will be seen on Fox Sports Net accross the nation and on Comcast SportsNet in the Baltimore/Washington area. The Major League Lacrosse All-Star Game features the greatest lacrosse talent ever to be assembled on the same playing field, pitting the MLL's American Division All-Stars versus the MLL's National Division All-Stars. The All-Stars were selected by the League's Head Coaches and Team General Managers.
