TOKYO, JAPAN - After playing three games in two days on their trip to Japan for the 2006 International Friendship Lacrosse Games, the North Carolina men's lacrosse team took a day off from competition Monday to experience traditional Japanese cultural experiences, do some sightseeing and hit the shopping trail. The 55 members of the traveling party, including 39 players and 16 staff and family members continue to have a great time on their eight-day trip to Japan.

On Monday afternoon everyone in the party took the subway to the Edogawa Tower Hall where they participated in a calligraphy session and sat in on a traditional Japanese tea ceremony.

The rest of the day was free time but the Tar Heels get serious again Tuesday when they play Gakushuin University at 3 p.m. at Ohi Field in a regulation 60-minute game. That game will be followed by a coat and tie reception being hosted by the University.
