DURHAM, N.C. -- Three players -- Scott Bross, Kevin Cassese and Timothy Knowles -- with Duke ties have been named to the 2002 U.S. Men's Lacrosse Team that will represent the United States in the 2002 International Lacrosse Federation World Championship on July 6-14 in Perth, Australia.

The 23-member team was selected from 121 players participating in a three-day tryout this past weekend at the University of Delaware. The United States is the defending ILF champion, having defeating Canada, 15-14, in the 1998 World Championship.

Bross, a midfielder and face-off specialist who closed out his career at Duke this past spring, was an All-ACC pick as a senior and led the Blue Devils to the 2001 ACC Tournament championship with an MVP performance.

Cassese, a rising junior midfielder at Duke, was the ACC Player of the Year as a sophomore after totalling 37 points on 23 goals and 14 assists. He also earned All-ACC and second team All-America honors this past season.

Knowles, a defenseman who graduated from Duke in 1999, was named third team All-America in 1999 after helping the Blue Devils to a school-record 13 wins.
