Tillman Johnson Selected In First Round Of Major League Lacrosse Draft
June 4, 2004 Fairfield, Conn. - University of Virginia All-American goalie Tillman Johnson was taken by the Philadelphia Barrage with the third pick in the first round of Major League Lacrosse's 2004 College Draft on Thursday night at Sacred Heart University. Shortly thereafter he was traded to the Rochester Rattlers. Johnson was named third-team All-America this season, the fourth season in a row he received All-American accolades. He started all 59 games in his career and finished his career third in ACC history with a school-record 700 saves. He was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Tournament in leading the Cavaliers to the national title last season. Johnson led the ACC this season with an average of 13.08 saves per game and was 13th nationally with a 59.4 save percentage.
