COLLEGE PARK, Md. - A pair of Maryland seniors Chris Malone (Timonium, Md.) and Pat McGinnis (Ellicott City, Md.) were selected in the Major League Lacrosse college player draft. Malone was taken by the New Jersey Pride with the 11th overall selection in the second round. McGinnis was the 18th overall pick by the Bridgeport Barrage in the third round.

Malone finished his Maryland career with 97 points on 60 goals and 37 assists. He was an honorable mention USILA All-American in 2001 after recording 16 points and 13 assists for 29 points. In 2000, he was a third team USILA All-American.

McGinnis was one of the nation's top goalies with a 6.48 goals against average and .653 save percentage. He was a first team All-American in 2001, also earning All-ACC honors for the second year in a row.
