June 3, 1999

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland senior defenseman Chris Lamy (Linthicum, Md./North County) was named a second team All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA). It marks the second consecutive season Lamy has been honored by the USILA. Last season he was an honorable mention All-American. In his senior campaign, Lamy started all 14 games, scored the first three goals of his college career, totaled four points and scooped up 16 groundballs. Lamy was also named to the All-ACC team.

Two other Terps were named honorable mention All-Americans by USILA. Senior Scott Hochstadt (Columbia, Md./Boys' Latin) and junior Casey Connor (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) were honored at attack and defense, respectively. For Hochstadt, it is the third time he has been named an All-American by USILA. As a sophomore he earned honorable mention and as a junior he was a second team All-American. Maryland's fifth all-time leading goal scorer with 121 goals, Hochstadt led the Terps in goals (30) and points (38) in his senior season.

Connor has been a stalwart on defense during his three years with the Terps. In 1999, Connor started all 14 games on defense, scooping up 35 groundballs. He was also an honorable mention All-American as a sophomore.

The Terps finished 9-5 in 1999, keeping alive a streak of never having finished with less than a .500 record since the varsity program started in 1924.
