COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland All-American lacrosse players Pat McGinnis (Ellicott City, Md.) and Andrew "Buggs" Combs (Baltimore, Md.) have been selected to play in the prestigious Division I North/South Game. The all-star game pitting 52 of the top college lacrosse seniors will take place on June 9, 2001 at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York, at 3 p.m.
McGinnis, a 2001 first team All-American finished the year No. 2 in the nation in goals against average (6.48) and save percentage (.653) in leading the Terps to the NCAA Quarterfinals.
Combs, 2001 second team All-American, became just the second Maryland player to scored 50 or more goals in a season and finished with 56 points to lead the team in scoring. Combs also completed his career with 87 goals, 15th on the all-time Maryland career goal-scoring list.
Both players along with senior Chris Malone (Timonium, Md.) will take part in the Major League Lacrosse's Warrior Major League Challenge on Saturday, June 2 at Johns Hopkins University's historic Homewood Field in Baltimore
