GREENSBORO, N.C. - Headlining the 2007 All-ACC Men's Lacrosse Team is Duke's father-son duo of John and Matt Danowski. The second-ranked Blue Devils and third-ranked Virginia Cavaliers placed four representatives each on this year's squad. The All-ACC team is determined by a vote of the league's four head coaches.

Earning his third ACC postseason accolade as the 2007 ACC Men's Lacrosse Player of the Year is Duke's Matt Danowski. The attackman was named 2005 ACC Player of the Year and 2004 ACC Rookie of the Year, becoming just the third player in league history to receive the Player of the Year nod twice. Danowski is currently the only player in the nation to have 25 or more goals and 25 or more assists this season and ranks 12th among ACC players in points, 20th in goals and 16th in assists. The senior is also one of five players in ACC history and 34 players in NCAA history to record 100-plus goals and 100-plus assists in a career.

Brian Phipps, a goalkeeper from Maryland, garnered the 2007 ACC Men's Lacrosse Freshman of the Year honors. Phipps currently has 136 saves in 13 games and 356 shots faced. The newcomer currently ranks 13th in the country with a 59.1 save percentage and has played in 712 of the team's 785 minutes this season.

Duke head coach and senior Danowski, John, was named the ACC Coach of the Year in his first season at Duke, after leading the Blue Devils to an 11-2 overall record, 3-0 ACC regular season ledger and current USILA national ranking of number two. Danowski helped the Blue Devils ascend to the number one spot in the USILA national poll for the first time in school history earlier this season.

The 2007 ACC Men's Lacrosse Championship will be held April 27 and April 29 at Koskinen Stadium on the campus of Duke University in Durham, N.C. More information on the two-day tournament and other ACC Championships can be found on TheACC.com.
