April 14, 2008 GREENSBORO, N.C. - Duke's Max Quinzani was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, April 13. The sophomore had a career-day, scoring seven goals, to help lead the second-ranked Blue Devils over third-ranked Virginia, 19-9, on Saturday evening. The win in front of a record crowd of 8,000 fans at Kockner Stadium, site for the upcoming ACC Men's Lacrosse Championship, gave Duke the top seed in this year's two-day tournament, which is slated for April 25 and 27. Quinzani netted a career-high seven goals against the Cavaliers, surpassing his previous career-best mark of six goals, which was tallied versus North Carolina on March 15, 2008. With his seven additions, the Duxbury, Mass., native increased his season goal total to 43, which tops in the nation just ahead of teammate Zack Greer's 42 goals. Quinzani now has 48 points for his sophomore campaign (43 goals, five assists), a total which ranks third on the team. In addition, Quinzani has tallied three or more goals in nine games and two or more goals in 11 of 12 games in 2008, scoring at least once in 19 of his last 20 games, dating back to 2007. Duke travels to Manhasset, N.Y., Saturday to play Army at Noon. The game will be televised by ESPNU.
