GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia sophomore midfielder Rob Emery and Maryland junior midfielder Curtis Holmes have been named Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for the week ending on Monday, Feb. 20.
Emery scored two key goals in Virginia’s 9-8 road win over No. 20 Drexel. The San Francisco, Calif., native scored his first goal in the third quarter to tie the game at 4-4. Holmes won 19-of-20 faceoffs and scooped up a career-high nine groundballs in Maryland’s 12-6 win over Hartford. After his seventh win, the Lutherville, Md., native took the faceoff down the field and scored to give the Terrapins their first lead of the game going into halftime.
