LIVE Scoring of Third Round Match Play

Washington, Mich. - Justin Walters and Fernando Mechereffe continue to represent the NC State Men's Golf program exceptionally well with their performances thus far at the 2002 U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship. Both Walters and Mechereffe will advance to the third round of match play slated for later this afternoon. Currently through four holes, Mechereffe trails 1-up to Eric Jorgensen in his third round match-up, while Walters has yet to start his third round against Casey Lubahn.

In the second round of match play, Walters defeated Steve Lohmeyer 1-up. Mechereffe ended Justin Smith's stay at the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship by winning 1-up.

Winners of the third round of match play in the afternoon session will advance to the match play quarterfinals on Friday. The semifinals are played Friday afternoon, and the finals are a 36-hole match play on Saturday.
