Virginia sophomore men's golfer Kyle Stough finished fifth at 2007 Maryland Open played at Chartwell Golf and Country Club July 9-11. The tournament is run by the Maryland State Golf Association.

Stough completed the three-day, 54-hole event at 2-under 211. He had rounds of 75, 66 and 70 to finish eight shots behind the tournament champion. He tied as the highest amateur finisher at the event.

As a freshman in 2006-07, Stough played in nine events for the Cavaliers. He finished the season with a 76.11 stroke average and recorded a pair of top-10 finishes.
