North Carolina Golfer Falls Short In North And South Amateur
July 6, 2006 PINEHURST, N. - University of North Carolina golfer David Holzworth fell short in his attempt to advance to the quarterfinal round of the 106th North and South Amateur, having been defeated in round three 6&5 by Brady Schbell, a rising senior at the University of Nebraska. The event is being played at Pinehurst #2, Holzworth, a rising sophomore from Chapel Hill, earlier in day during round two defeated Missouri¹s John Kelly in 19 holes. Match play of this year¹s prestigious North and South began on Wednesday. The second and third rounds are being played Thursday with quarterfinal matches on Friday, the semifinals on Saturday, and the 36-hole final will take place on Sunday. |
